introduction
Wednesday, September 6th, 2006I’ve always found flute methods frustrating. There isn’t enough discussion of what you physically need to do to get the right sound. There often isn’t any correlation between ear-training and instrument learning. There’s rarely anything about improvisation or composing, as if you have to wait some ungodly length of time before even considering to attempt these things. And my number one complaint: you have three songs to learn about eighth-notes, then we’re going to throw something new at you.
I realized the place to find such a book was me and that I should share it as a blog, because I’m increasingly into sharing (though donations are welcome…). I hope to post once per week, with lots of pictures, diagrams, and music. Comments are welcome via andrea at reloadsanear dot com.
cheers.

Update, 15 May 2008.
No, I haven’t forgotten or given up on this. I’ve been doing lots of research that does and doesn’t have to do with this flute book. Among the stuff that does, I’ve been slowly sorting through many, many songs and putting them into some sort of pedagogical hierarchy. I’ve also been writing more songs along the same lines. I hope to be back into the swing of this book starting in 2009. Sorry for the wait!
cheers.
